Branding & Reputation Management for French Actor

During the length of our engagement with Alaa Safi we oversaw updates to his personal brand, and enhancements and fixes to his reputation through SEO, Brand SERP Optimization, and Knowledge Panel Management. In brand, we developed a new website and consulted on social media strategy. In Search Engine Optimization and Reputation Management, we enhanced and corrected his online reputation on Google Search and across Alaa's digital ecosystem.

The Challenge

Alaa Safi came to us needing help correcting and enhancing his digital reputation through the development of a strong and balanced brand. When we began the project, Alaa’s personal brand was inconsistent and under developed which over time had caused confusion across the web. Specifically on Google Search he had 20 duplicate versions of him that consisted of either his brand name or his legal name, because he had inconsistently been given tv/film credits under either his brand name or legal name.

The lack of an active and authoritative digital presence to reconcile the brand also contributed to Google assuming certain details about Alaa’s brand incorrectly. These inconsistencies also caused his brand SERP to be heavily dominated by third-party website links that also displayed inaccurate information. This all lead to an underdeveloped and siloed brand presence and caused his knowledge panel to display social media links that didn’t belong to him. Ultimately, preventing representation from claiming his knowledge panel and managing his presence.

The Solution

In order to clarify Alaa Safi’s brand, we needed to build Google’s confidence about who is Alaa Safi the actor, director and producer. We did this by updating inconsistencies in digital databases with accurate information like social media links, biography, and tv/ film credits. All these digital ecosystem updates brought confidence to Google that the 20+ versions of Alaa were all one and the same. Once Google updated Alaa’s knowledge panel with correct social media links we were able to assist in helping claim it and begin next steps.

Step two was all about building a strong website that would act as the authoritative source for Google to verify and reconcile its knowledge about Alaa Safi against. The website allowed us to showcase his full portfolio of work to bring clarity and balance to his brand SERP.  The design of the site was meant to match Alaa’s personality and style. By choosing a timeless color palette and bold fonts, the design could fade to the background enabling the his portfolio of work to be center stage. We organized every prominent film or television show that Alaa had starred in into dedicated project details pages, allowing fans to have a deeper look into the film and into the character Alaa portrayed. All summing up to an immersive experience of his life and career. By adding custom schema to the website and each project page, we taught Google in its own language about Alaa Safi, his tv and film roles and about his character in each of those projects. This ultimately, began to reconcile the duplicate brand personas into one brand name.

The Results

We created a brand for Alaa Safi that acts as the blueprint for every visual and digital decision moving forward. Because of the website, we’ve been able to update the first page of his brand SERP to be 100% links that are from credible sources and 75% of the links to be ones he fully controls like IMDb, YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook.

As a result of the website, Google’s confidence of Alaa Safi’s brand is consistently growing and is even impacting page two and three of his brand SERP making the brand even more reputable and credible. Now Alaa has a more robust brand presence that depicts a more complete and immersive picture of his life and work.
